THERE ARE NO TARIFFS OR CUSTOMS DUTIES ON BOOKS. First published in 1962, this large-format book explores and celebrates the possibilities opened up with the new-found accessibility to colour negative film. By modifying the degree of enlargement, picture area, density, and through filters, colours themselves, photographers could now enjoy the same degree of artistic freedom as with monochrome. Here, contemporary photographer, Walter Boje, collects some of the best and most exciting work in the field of that time and invites contributors to critique his aims and methods. These make for something as stimulating to the mind as it is to the eye, and demonstrate the the sense of excitement of the time.Subjects looked at are: ballet, Paris, colour rhythms, London, parks, experiments in colour, steel, and woman - and together make up 90 full colour plates. Binding is sound are pages are unblemished save for some tanning. Cloth-bound hard-cover has faded and is worn around the edges. Dust-jacket is tanned and has several marks, as well as many tears and creases around the edges. Seller Inventory # 431250
