Here is the story of a little girl who cannot seem to do anything right. Then one day she receives a precious heirloom--a golden locket that teaches her the magical power of believing in herself. Packaged with locket. Full-color illustrations.
A Stamford, Connecticut native, Elizabeth Koda-Callan began her career as a Graphic Designer/Illustrator for Glamour and Mademoiselle magazines, and as an Art Director with CBS Columbia (Records Division). Her first foray into children's publishing was with Scholastic, Inc., as a designer for their school magazines.
After studying at the School of Visual Arts, she began doing freelance illustration for various clients including The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Redbook, Random house, Ballantine Books, Penguin USA, among others.
Elizabeth was encouraged to do her first book by an editor/writer friend. It took five years to get the Magic Locket published, but like the little girls in her stories, she persevered and believed in what she was doing. Today, The Magic Locket is a bestseller and has inspired the immensely popular series called Elizabeth Koda-Callan's Magic Charm Books. And the magic has caught on around the world. Elizabeth Koda-Callan's books have been translated into French and Japanese, and are widely sold in Canada, Great Britain, and Australia.
