Dai Dunbang, also known as the “ Folk Artist,” is a famous painter from China who loves to bring classic stories to life with his brush. He is a master of Chinese painting, especially known for drawing people from long ago in their beautiful, traditional clothes. Dai Dunbang has taught many students at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and is celebrated worldwide for his art. His drawings fill the pages of over forty classic Chinese books, mak­ ing the stories jump off the pages! Dai Hongqian, also called Big Qian, is an amazing artist like his father, Dai Dunbang. From a young age, he learned painting and calligraphy under his father’ s guidance and now has his own unique style. His beautiful paintings, especially of old buildings in Shanghai, have been loved by many and featured in famous newspapers. Dai Hongqian’ s artwork has been displayed in art shows around the world, including a very special exhibit in the Hague, Netherlands. Chen Hui is a brilliant writer and professor who loves children’ s books just as much as you do! She teaches at Beijing Normal University and has written many books to help everyone understand and love children’ s literature. Dr. Chen creates wonderful stories and books that help children learn, grow, and imagine new worlds.
