Magic of the Runes: And Spiritual Secrets of Virgil's Aeneid

Learn about the ancient wisdom of the Runes, and how to use them to empower your spiritual practice.

Spiritual development requires enormous amounts of energy, thus those who aspire towards the blossoming of the soul need methods of acquiring and utilizing energy. Hidden in the runes we can find such methods. Then, through The Aeneid, we learn how to use that energy.

The Nordic runes are very ancient letters known to contain great spiritual mysteries, but their true nature has remained untapped by modern seekers of knowledge. Each rune represents a circuit of energy in Nature. By understanding how the runes are present everywhere in Nature, one learns how to utilize them in daily life to empower the awakening of the consciousness. One such method is to use the physical body to emulate a rune in combination with prayer and sacred words. By mirroring the runic circuits of Nature, we become capable of receiving and transforming great amounts of energy.

Yet, energy alone is not enough: one also needs to know what to do with it. For that, Samael Aun Weor unveiled the beautiful symbolism of The Aeneid, one of treasures of classical literature, in which we discover many secrets of the spiritual path. Written by the Roman poet Virgil between 29 and 19 BC, The Aeneid is considered the greatest Latin masterpiece. For more than two thousand years it has remained one of the most studied, memorized, and analyzed writings, yet its true meaning has remained hidden. On the surface, it tells the story of Aeneas and his struggle to establish Rome, yet in truth the story is like all myths: it is an archetypal, symbolic representation of the spiritual path. Like all the great heroes – Odysseus, Herakles, Arjuna, Samson – Aeneas represents the soul who seeks to restore its divine inheritance, and to do so it must overcome the consequences of its former mistaken actions. That is a work of practical action in daily life through which the soul is raised out of suffering. This book is a guide to accomplish it.

The name Samael Aun Weor is Hebrew and is pronounced sam-ayel on vay-ohr. Samael Aun Weor wrote over sixty books, gave thousands of lectures, and formed the worldwide Gnostic Movement, whose members number in the millions. And yet, in spite of his wisdom and generosity towards mankind, he said: "Do not follow me. I am just a signpost. Reach your own Self-realization." His lifelong mission was to deliver to humanity the total and exact science to develop the complete human being, that mysterious and ancient wisdom long hidden in the bosom of every great religion.
