It follows him from Cobra Records' scrappy West Side studio, where he cut "All Your Love" at twenty and never cracked the national charts, through a military prison sentence that nearly ended everything, to the two Delmark albums - West Side Soul and Black Magic - that finally captured him at full strength, just as a British blues boom built on his old labelmate's parallel hit was sending Eric Clapton and Peter Green back to the same Chicago studio Sam had recorded in.
