The magnetic amplifier, an electromagnetic device for amplifying electrical signals, was developed in the first half of the 20th century as an alternative to vacuum tube amplifiers, particularly by Germany during World War II. In the late 1950s the transistor began to replace the magnetic amplifier. Scarce. In Very Good Condition: cover is lightly rubbed, and browning along edges; pages are clean and solid.
