J. David Pitcher, Jr., MD, grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, attending Edison High School and graduating in 1974. He attended Oklahoma State University and then Oral Roberts University. Then he graduated from Oral Roberts University School of Medicine in the first class in 1982. He received his orthopaedic training at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, and his orthopaedic oncologic surgery at the Combined Harvard Orthopaedic Program at Massachusetts General Hospital and The Children's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He served in the U. S. Army for nearly seventeen years. He previously held positions at the University of New Mexico Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the New Mexico Veterans Administration Health Care System. He currently is an orthopaedic oncology surgeon at the University of Miami. He attends Calvary Chapel in Fort Lauderdale with his wife, Pam.
