Le Herron spent his business career at three companies with challenging workplace environments. While serving two of the three as a chief executive officer, he discovered a profound interest in helping people turn on their talent. Le learned business operations from the ground up at Franklin Hardware & Supply Co. in Philadelphia. When named general manager of American Hardware Supply Co. (now Servistar), the largest retailer-owned hardware distributor in the U.S., he resolved serious labor union problems as its de facto CEO. He was then recruited as the first outsider CEO of O.M. Scott & Sons in Marysville, Ohio, the national manufacturer and marketer of lawn care products. Scotts' subsequent acquisition by ITT Corp. brought an increase in the workforce, introducing change that jeopardized the company's homegrown work ethic. Marysville's continuing industrial development also led to more interest from unions, and the company was the target of several unionization attempts. During this challenging time, Le's leadership strengthened Associate loyalty and fostered a remarkable increase in productivity. He lives in Marysville with his wife, Betty.Sherry Christie has worked with Le Herron for many years.
