Malachi (Paperback)

Paperback. Why would the last prophet before the New Testament begin with God saying, "I have loved you" - and end with the promise of Elijah?Malachi spoke to a disappointed generation. The exiles had returned. The Temple had been rebuilt. Worship had resumed. Yet spiritual life had grown cold. Priests compromised, covenants were broken, injustice seemed unanswered, and many began wondering whether serving God was worth it.Malachi: The Last Voice Before the Silence follows this short but remarkable prophetic book as both a biblical and historical investigation. In clear, easy-to-understand language, Rama Jaikumar and M Jaikumar explore Malachi's six great disputes, the mysterious messenger who prepares the way, the Lord coming to His Temple, the refiner's fire, the Book of Remembrance, tithes and offerings, the Day of the LORD, the Sun of Righteousness, and the promise that Elijah would come. The story then moves beyond Malachi into the centuries between the Old and New Testaments-from Persia and Alexander the Great to the Maccabees, Rome and Herod's Temple-before arriving at Zechariah, John the Baptist and Jesus. The book also examines the fascinating Dead Sea Scroll evidence for Malachi and carefully distinguishes between what the ancient text actually says, what the New Testament explicitly connects with fulfilment, and what remains interpretation or future Christian hope. This is not a sensational book of end-times predictions. It is a readable investigation into an ancient prophet whose questions still sound surprisingly modern. How do we remain faithful when God seems slow to act?Malachi's answer is as relevant now as it was centuries ago: Remember. Return. Remain faithful. Prepare. The story is not finished. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…
