He trained at Cliff College under the great Samuel Chadwick, and went on to become a leader in the Holiness Movement. Along with Jack Ford, Leonard Ravenhill, and Clifford Filer he established churches all over the British Isles. He was President of the Calvary Holiness Church, but when this denomination was merged with the larger Church of the Nazarene he was given a roving commission, having close ties with leaders in several denominations, including those in the pentecostal and charismatic movements. For nearly fifty years he was editor of the Flame magazine. This book covers many topics, and some of the thorny issues are tackled with courage and conviction."
