Man, as Known to Us Theologically and Geologically

Man, As Known To US Theologically And Geologically by Edward Nares. Man, as a theologico-geological inquiry, argues that true knowledge of humanity's origin and destiny rests in the Bible rather than geology. Nares maintains that history is an essential part of religion and that the Bible furnishes a coherent account of human origins, the Fall, the incarnation, the two Adams, and the resurrection. He critiques atheistic and deistic positions that appeal to the Earth's vast ages as undermining revelation and engages with theologians and geologists to defend a Mosaic chronology compatible with geological data. The work surveys the Sabbath, the creation in six days, the Deluge, and the unity of mankind; arguing that the Earth's physical history cannot disprove biblical truths. Nares calls for caution in extrapolating cosmic timelines from fossils and insists that science must yield to revelation. The volume defends faith against modern science while inviting inquiry within a theistic framework.
