As a Man Thinketh for Today's Readers
James Allen's classic rephrased in contemporary language

Widely considered the greatest self-help book of all-time, As a Man Thinketh reveals how our thoughts shape our character and influence our circumstances, health, and achievements. The choice is yours: either master your mind to create the life you want, or remain mired in frustration and failure.

While James Allen's writing was exceptionally clear for its time, As a Man Thinketh—like any 100-year-old book—uses archaic language that can be difficult to grasp. In this 21st Century Edition, bestselling author Sam Torode entirely rephrases Allen's ideas in contemporary English, making his wisdom available to today's readers. It's also gender-neutral (except for retaining the original title), because this is a book for all humans.

This book is now also available in comic book format from PhilosoComics! Search for As We Think: James Allen's Guide to the Power of Thought by Sam Torode & Alexander Marchand, ASIN B08FP7LHRN.

James Allen (1864-1912) was born into a working-class British family. At age fifteen, his father was tragically killed, and James dropped out of school to work and support his family. Reading voraciously and developing his writing skills during his few spare hours, he worked his way up to the level of executive secretary. Through it all, James focused his thoughts on truth, beauty, virtue, and success, and these qualities came to define his life. At age 38, James retired from business to become a full-time writer and contemplative philosopher, pouring out his thoughts in a steady stream of books, the most renowned being As a Man Thinketh.

Sam Torode, adaptor of this edition of As a Man Thinketh, creates books that entertain, inform, and inspire. He is author of the bestselling humorous novel The Dirty Parts of the Bible and several philosophical works including The Manual, The Meditations, Living from the Soul, and Secrets of the Mind.
