All states and union territories in India have launched a scheme to develop necessary infrastructure through establishing State Tourism Development Corporations (STDCs) for speedy development of tourism. The experience has been proved good in some states while the role of some tourism corporations in found wanting. The present book is primarily aimed at inquiring project planning practices in state tourism corporations appraising the existing financial structure of tourism corporations to evaluate the operating performance of tourism corporations and to suggest necessary measures to improve the performance of the corporations.
