Jerry also learned about creating strong organizations at the management consulting firm of McKinsey & Company in Washington, D.C. He began his career as a high school math and history teacher through Teach For America in Compton, California, and he holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. from Duke University. Alison Green writes the popular Ask a Manager blog where she dispenses advice on career, job search, and management issues. She's also the former chief of staff of a successful nonprofit organization, where she oversaw day-to-day staff management, hiring, firing, and employee development. She now teaches other managers how to manage for results.
