About the Authors
Dr Albert Wee Kwan Tan is an Associate Professor at the Asian Institute of Management, specializing in supply chain management, logistics, and business analytics. His academic credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the University of Southern Queensland and a Master in Business Studies from the National University of Ireland. Additionally, he holds professional certifications such as the Certified Fellow in Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM) from APICS. Dr Tan has held senior academic positions at prestigious institutions, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the National University of Singapore, the MIT SCALE Network, and the University of Wollongong in Dubai. He has also directed academic programs in IT Management, MBA, and MSc Logistics across multiple locations, including Malaysia, Dubai, the Philippines, and Singapore. His research focuses on supply chain and logistics, operations research, and business analytics, with significant contributions in areas such as optimizing reverse logistics networks, dynamic simulation of warehouse operations, and digital transformation. His work has been published in leading academic journals, and he serves on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Information Systems in the Service Sector and the International Journal of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management. Dr Siti Norida Wahab is a senior lecturer in the operations management program at the Faculty of Business and Management, UiTM Puncak Alam. She has around 20 years of experience in both the industrial and educational fields. Her previous leadership positions include roles at the managerial level in multinational logistics companies and renowned private universities. Her research interests includes sustainable adoption in logistics and supply chain management. She managed national and international grants and published her research works in high-rated journals, proceedings, book and book chapters. In addition, she also supervised a number of PhD and MSc candidates. For excellence, she has won platinum, diamond, gold, silver, and bronze medals in innovation competitions. She also actively serves as a reviewer for journals and academic conferences. Currently, she is a professional technologist of the Malaysia Board of Technologists.
Associate Professor Tay Huay Ling is an Associate Professor in the Singapore University of Social Sciences. She teaches operations, supply chain management courses, and lean six sigma. Her research focuses on lean six sigma, sustainability, healthcare, and humanitarian logistics. Her practitioners' experience includes supply network analysis, chemical logistics, healthcare operations, and process improvements. She has been involved in several consultancy projects involving non-profit organisations, in operations and supply chain performance tracking and improvements through process streamlining and workflow redesigns. She has published journal articles on operations management and process improvements in logistics, healthcare, community care, and higher education.
Mr Chin See Ching holds an MBA in International Business from Australia and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Canada. In the early stages of his career, he worked in the manufacturing industry, where he developed expertise in industrial engineering, particularly in motion and time study design and work measurement. He later transitioned to the logistics sector, focusing on Just-In-Time (JIT) hub implementation, transportation management, warehousing, inventory management, and third-party logistics (3PL) solutions. Mr Chin has gained valuable international experience through postings in Malaysia and China, where he successfully managed cross-cultural relationships by sharing best practices in warehouse management with local teams. This diverse background inspired him to write this book, aimed at providing practical guidance for business owners seeking to enhance their warehouse management practices. Currently, he serves as a Senior Logistics Consultant at his own company, specializing in Logistics and Operations Management as well as Productivity Measurement and Improvement.
