The models developed in this research are mainly applicable to products that are modular, repairable and expensive. The upgrade also involved upgrading an aircraft component (gearbox) in order to achieve higher operational efficiency. About the Author

Asima Mishra is working as Sr. Operations Research Engineer at Intel, Santa Clara. She has a PhD in Operations Management and MS in Industrial Engineering, both from Purdue University. She specializes in application of Operations Research to Supply Chain Management problems.
