52 page complete article from the January 26th 1894 issue of "Engineering" Magazine, with 39 full page & half page photogravure plates of the various sections of swing bridges and engineering details with many elevation & side section engineer drawings. There is a double page plate of the "Barton Swing Bridge" + "Moore Lane Bridge", railway bridges, etc the pages are numbered 97 to 152 with some other sections AND a 33 page section on the last "Broad Guage" railway track (Brunel design) being removed at Plymouth and the last steam train "Flying Dutchman" using it from Paddington. Disbound but complete as a serious article on this project. Quarto. *The 36 mile Manchester Ship Canal arguably the greatest of the Victorian engineering feats was opened in January 1894 so this article is on point and I have attributed the details to the chief engineer (see author). Queen Victoria officially opened the Canal in May.
