Original publisher's decorative cloth boards with gilt-stamped and embossed cover illustration. Boards show edge wear, rubbing, and surface scuffing consistent with age. Spine shaken with cracking at the inner hinges; binding fragile. Several pages are loose but present. Text block complete with all pages accounted for; pagination begins at page 9, as issued. Pages toned with age, with small edge chips and short tears near the gutter, particularly at the front. Illustrated throughout with clean, well-impressed Victorian engravings. No modern repairs noted. Illustrated Victorian etiquette manual offering a primary-source view of late-nineteenth-century social customs, courtship, and domestic life.
