Manon Lescaut is a four-act Italian opera composed by Giacomo Puccini in 1892 and based on the 1731 novel Histoire du Chevalier des Grieux, et de Manon Lescaut by AbbŽ PrŽvost. The opera follows the heroine Manon Lescaut, a girl ordered to a convent by her religious father, as she falls in love with the wealthy Chevalier des Grieux while outside forces try to pull them apart. Unusual piece of World War II ephemera.
