Marbled endpapers. 145pp., with chapters on cooking methods, soups, fish, meats, poultry and game, eggs, dried fruits, breads, cakes, puddings and dumplings, sauces, and hot beverages. This work went into several subsequent editions and became the standard for Army cooking for decades. This first edition is RARE.
