Instructions for the propogation & cultivation of the Chinese mulberry tree, rearing of silkworms, and manufacture of silk in Massachusetts. Manual developed at the direction of Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1831 to spur the agricultural & economic development and to reduce the amount of imported silk.Includes suggestions for introducing silkworm rearing in the classrooms. A little gem.
