Later printing. x, 116 pages plus 5 folding plates (several colored). 8vo. Publisher's cloth. Corners bumped, minor wear at the extremities. Previous owner name on front flyleaf. A solid copy, noting that several signature are proud of the textblock. Cloth. An interesting treatise which deals not just with the usual geometric examples, but also discusses coloring and tinting with ink and brush, and color aesthetics. Contains four divisions of instruction: Instruments and Materials, Fundamental Operations, Practical Constructions of Two Dimensions, and Elementary Aesthetics of Geometrical Drawing. Designed as a Text-Book, for Self-Instruction. Last plate is a plan for a schoolhouse. S. Edward Warren was a Professor of Descriptive Geometry at RPI. Surprisingly scarce, with only electronic copies available as of this listing. OCLC records editions in 1865, 1868, 1870 (as here), 1871, 1873, 1876, and 1879.
