Light wear to extremities with minor scuffing to corners and edges. Light soiling to surface of cloth with minor staining to edges. Spine ends are slightly crushed from shelf wear. Spine label desiccated with chipped, mostly missing. Internally good with light toning to edges, consistent foxing throughout and light age staining. Free of known markings. Binding intact. Early Monitorial System, also known as Madras System or Lancasterian System text on the education method that took hold during the early 19th century, because of Spanish, French, and English colonial education. This style of education imposed into their areas of expansion. This method is also known as mutual instruction or the Bell-Lancaster method after the British educators Andrew Bell and Joseph Lancaster who both independently developed it. It was found to be a very effective method as it became a cheap way of making primary education more inclusive, thus making it possible to decrease the average class size.
