Clean tear across F2 without loss, gathering B just a trifle pulled, else a remarkably clean, tight copy in a fine original binding. With the period ownership signature of Philip Hiler on the front cover. A beautiful copy of the first manual of the New Jersey legislature. In January 1836 the council and general assembly passed a joint resolution subscribing for 130 copies, and a copy was given to each member of the legislature. Charles Sitgreaves (1803-1878) was a member of both the assembly and the council (and, later, the senate) From 1865 to 1869 he served in the United States Congress.
