Item description from seller

Unpaginated, but about 124pp. with text or drawings on about half of them. Original manuscript notebook with circa 25 assorted dawings in ink, pen, pencil, crayon, watercolour etc . Also numerous entries of supportive messages, comment, verse and best wishes to Maire. It seems that she was going to Australia and members of her class & some other friends wrote fond verse and words wishing her all the very best for the future. Some of the art is very well executed. A terrific memento of her schooldays in Sion Hill. Some of the entries are headed "Veritas" or Truth which is a central feature of the school's ethos and in fact is the name given to the college's yearbook. One of the drawings by Sister Conleth has a group of the girls singing from the School Song book titled Veristas. "Dominican College Sion Hill aims to help each student achieve her full potential academically, spiritually, emotionally and socially in a happy environment. Sion Hill was founded by the Dominican sisters in 1836 in a suburban villa called Sion Hill because of rare shrubs brought by its owners from the Holy Land. In the beginning the school catered for 40 day pupils, 8 boarders and 10 nuns. By 1950 this had increased to 120 day pupils and 130 boarders. The boarding school closed in the late 1960s and the school now caters for 500 day pupils.…
