Map of Philadelphia from The Stranger's Guide to the City of Philadelphia, which was published several times during the 1830's. Previously folded. Good condition, with short tears along folds, one small chip out of top margin. Foxed. The Delaware River which runs along the east side of the city is along the bottom of the map. The Schuylkill River is at the top. Shows from Federal Street in South Philadelphia to Penn Township, Spring Garden and Kensington in the north. The area between Broad Street and the Schuylkill is still not nearly as heavily occupied as the areas to its east.
