Farm line map of the area on the West side of Manhattan, from 30th to 40th Streets, Broadway and 6th Avenue to just west of 8th Avenue. Full original color by lot. Modern linen backing, light wear, generally fine condition. This is one of the large, and now very scarce, which showed 17th and 18th century farm lines superimposed over the contemporary grid system. Very bright and colorful, these maps are among the most detailed 19th century maps for individual Manhattan neighborhoods. This map shows the area just south of Times Square which would later become a large portion of the Garment District. It includes the intersection of Broadway & 6th Avenue (now Herald Square) and the area where Pennsylvania Station (in 1910) and the latest Madison Square Garden (in 1969) would be built. The footprints of the scattered original farm buildings are shown. Seller Inventory # m01631
