Farm line map of the area in East Harlem between 113th and 125nd Streets, from Second Avenue to the Harlem River which is shown along the bottom of the map. Full original color by lot. Modern linen backing, Some previous cracking with light staining at top. Scattered minor loss including three letters in the title block. This is one of the large, and now very scarce, in the style of the series of maps published by J. B. Holmes whose name does not appear here, which showed 17th and 18th century farm lines superimposed over the contemporary grid system. Very bright and colorful, these maps are among the most detailed 19th century maps for individual Manhattan neighborhoods. Lands to the south of this tract are identified as "Land belonging to J. J. Roosevelt" and "Now or late of Alexander Hamilton.".
