About the Author: Jon Kimerling is professor of geography at Oregon State University in Corvallis. He has studied at the University of Washington and the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and has taught cartography and map use at the University of Wisconsin and Curtin University in Perth, Australia. Kimerling has published widely on topics of cartography, remote sensing, and geographic information systems. Aileen R. Buckley received her doctorate from Oregon State University and is currently a cartography professor at the University of Redlands, as well as a cartographic researcher for ESRI. Buckley has written numerous articles on map design and GIS for mapping, as well as contributed to the detailed, full-color volume Atlas of Oregon. Phillip C. Muehrcke is professor emeritus of geography at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He has studied at Northern Michigan University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Sydney in Australia and has taught cartography at the University of Washington, the University of Arizona, and the University of Hawaii. Juliana O. Muehrcke is the founding editor of Nonprofit World, a national journal for executives in nonprofit organizations. She has written for more than 100 publications, mostly in the educational field. She has studied at the University of Colorado, the University of Michigan, and the University of Washington.
