Hardcover; embossed brown cloth. This is one volume only. Contains three large fold-out maps, that accompanied Herndon's "Exploration of the VAlley of the Amazon ", published in 1854. The maps included are: 1) Map of th Valley of the Amazon; 2) Plan del curso de los Rios Huallaga y Ucayali y de la Pampa Del Sacramento; and 3) Map of Huallaga, Ucayali & Amazon Rivers. Light surface rubbing, very light soil to the boards. Corners and spine extremities lightly bumped, with some wear at the bottom, rear corner. A bit of light wrinkling to the cloth at the top of the front board. Else the binding is quite clean. The pastedowns are quite age-toned. The maps are just a bit age-toned, but quite clean, with scattered tiny foxed spots (mostly on the section laying against the rear pastedown). ; Maps; 26B; 9" x 5-3/4". Seller Inventory # 60816
