These posters were made by him for exhibitions of his work They were designed to present his works, reflecting the tradition under which European artists worked--posters for his exhibits, books, Jerusalem Windows, the circus and the fiestas of Nice and Vence in Sourthern France.

One example, I have a John Muir book where he has written in the margins all through it to correct mistakes made by the publisher.
