A catalog that accompanied an exhibit celebrating the 175th anniversary of Mark Twain's birth and the 100th anniversary of his death. Prepared as a collaborative effort between The Morgan Library and The New York Public Library, it was shown at the Morgan from September 17, 2010 to January 2, 2011. Two essays are included: the first, by Isaac Gewirtz, is titled "A Skeptic's Progress" and the second is by Declan Kiely and is titled "A Century of Collection Mark Twain at The Morgan Library & Museum and The New York Public Library". A larger format, measuring 8" x 11" with 140+ pages, it is illustrated with vintage b/w photographs and sample ephemera from the extensive collections of both libraries.
