A very good copy, for its age, of this adventure story in The Boy's Own Library series. No Dust Jacket (as issued?), Cover: bright blue cloth covered boards with gilt and black lettering to front and spine, and black design to front; very bright and clean for its age; darkening to spine and some fading to spine gilt; rubbing to all edges and edges of spine, commensurate with age and use' some white marks to front (see photos) but overall in very good condition for a book which is 140 years old. Internally: clean and tightly bound overall but slight loosening to bottom stitching on frontispiece gathering; hinges sound; previous owner's very neat signature to front paste down; no other markings or book plates; paste downs and end papers dark grey; top edges coloured slight darkening to other page edges. Black and white illustrations throughout including frontispiece. 330 pp plus 6 pp advertising material. Seller Inventory # 003095
