Mary and the Christian Educator

“St. Louis-Marie de Montfort promises you that the devotion to Mary which this book helps Catholic educators practice, will skyrocket your devotion to her more than any other devotion, because this devotion…”

“…is a path trodden by Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, our sole Head. One of His members in passing by the same road cannot deceive himself” (“True Devotion to Mary”, 168).

And also because he said the Holy Spirit revealed this devotion to him. He writes…

“Predestinate soul, here is a secret the Most High has taught me, which I have not been able to find in any book, old or new. I confide it to you, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit” (“The Secret of Mary”, 1).

Read on to find out about the benefits and advantages this book brings to you.

First of all, St. Louis-Marie declares that this devotion to Mary brings you closer to God than any other devotion, because it’s…

“…more glorious to God, more sanctifying to the soul, and more useful to the neighbor, than any other of the devotions to her” (True Devotion, 118).

He calls this devotion to Mary…

“…a secret unknown to almost all Christians, even the most devout” (True Devotion, 177).

Fr. Emil Neubert was one of the few people who knew this secret. He explains this secret for Catholic educators so well, that St. Maximilian Kolbe told his fellow Franciscans…

“He has the exact same spirit as we have.”

He also told them…

“The devotion taught by Blessed Grignion (St. Louis-Marie) is ours exactly.”

In other words, St. Louis-Marie and Fr. Neubert are on the same page.

That’s why St. Maximilian reached out and struck up a friendship with him, and encouraged everyone to read his books.

Frank Duff, founder of the Legion of Mary, did the same, because he was as impressed with Fr. Neubert’s books as St. Maximilian was.

“St. Louis-Marie points out your two options…”

Option 1: You can ignore this devotion. He warns…

“It is true that we can attain to divine union by other roads; but it is by many more crosses and exceptional setbacks, and with many more difficulties, which we shall find it hard to overcome” (True Devotion, 152).

Because of that, as you might imagine, not imitating Jesus’ devotion to Mary is as dangerous as sailing on a stormy sea.

Option 2: You can use this book to help you imitate Jesus’ devotion to Mary, which he calls…

“…a path of roses and honey compared with the other paths” (True Devotion, 152).

God tells us through St. Paul…

“Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Cor. 10:31).

St. Louis-Marie assures you…

“This devotion, faithfully practiced, is an excellent means of making sure that the value of all our good works shall be employed for the greatest glory of God. Scarcely anyone acts for that noble end, although we are all under an obligation to do so” (True Devotion, 151).

God the Father also tells us through St. Paul, that He wants you “to be made conformable to the image of His Son” (Rom. 8:29).

St. Louis-Marie emphasizes that this devotion to Mary will bring you that transformation.

That’s the reason why he declares…

“Oh, how highly we glorify God, when, to please Him, we submit ourselves to Mary, after the example of Jesus Christ, our sole Model!” (True Devotion, 18)

Act now to let Mary increase your happiness, because when you practice this devotion to her, St. Louis-Marie promises…

“…you will find so many rich fruits of grace in this practice that you will be surprised and filled with joy” (Secret, 53).

“Only experience can teach the wonders wrought by Mary, wonders so great that neither the wise nor the proud, nor even many of the devout can believe them” (Secret, 57).
