First Edition Thus. Paperback. Small octavo format. 129pp. Features front cover detail from Édouard Manet's "Bal de l'Opéra". This scarce collection features five rare stories translated into English by A. Craig Bell: A Masked Ball, The Cabriolet Driver, The Curé of Boulogne, Marianna, and The Elusive Bird. Condition: Good. The pictorial covers show visible edge-wear, rubbing, and distinct creasing to the corners and spine surface. Internally, the text block exhibits typical age-related yellowing and light foxing, primarily restricted to the page edges and preliminary leaves. Pages remain tightly bound, crisp, and completely free from any interior inscriptions, highlighting, or underlining. A solid, legible, and complete reading copy of an uncommon out-of-print edition.
