The Master of the Inn

The story is set in a rural New England inn and follows the life of its proprietor, who serves as the "Master of the Inn." The novel delves into the interactions between the innkeeper and the various guests who stay at the inn, providing a rich tapestry of character studies and social observations. Herrick's writing often reflects a deep interest in the complexities of human nature and society, and "The Master of the Inn" is no exception. The inn serves as a microcosm of the broader world, allowing Herrick to explore themes of hospitality, community, and the contrasts between different ways of life.
