The Master Mind of Mars (Paperback or Softback)

On the dying world of Barsoom, science and ambition combine in dangerous experiments that threaten lives, identities, and entire civilizations.

In The Master Mind of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Ulysses Paxton, a soldier from Earth, finds himself mysteriously transported to Mars after death seems certain on the battlefields of Earth. Awakening on Barsoom, he enters a world already filled with strange races, ancient cities, and deadly rivalries-but soon becomes entangled in something even more disturbing.

Paxton falls under the influence of Ras Thavas, the brilliant yet feared scientist known as the Master Mind of Mars. Through advanced surgical and mental techniques, Ras Thavas has learned to transfer brains and personalities between bodies, granting power over life, identity, and physical form itself. What begins as scientific wonder gradually reveals darker consequences as greed, manipulation, and obsession emerge around these unnatural experiments.

As Paxton becomes involved in dangerous intrigues surrounding kidnapped bodies, false identities, and political conflict, he must navigate a world where appearance and selfhood can no longer be trusted. His struggle for survival leads through hidden laboratories, royal conspiracies, and battles against enemies both human and monstrous.

Blending science fantasy, adventure, and imaginative speculation, The Master Mind of Mars explores some of the strangest and most unsettling ideas within Edgar Rice Burroughs' legendary Barsoom series.
