Master Or Myth: Avoiding Bruce Lee Imposters

Master or Myth: Avoiding Bruce Lee Imposters is a powerful exposé and insightful guide for anyone navigating the often deceptive world of modern martial arts. Written by seasoned martial artist Peter Canavarro, this book strips away the mystique and marketing ploys that surround self-proclaimed "masters," revealing the truth behind rank inflation, showy demonstrations, and the business-driven side of martial arts schools.

Part memoir, part manual, Master or Myth combines real-life stories, hard-earned lessons, and sharp critique to help readers distinguish genuine teachers from imposters. From dissecting the belt ranking system to exposing the dangers of fake board-breaking stunts, Canavarro emphasizes critical thinking, self-awareness, and philosophical depth over flash and commercial hype.

Whether you're a beginner looking to start your martial arts journey, a parent seeking the right school for your child, or a seasoned practitioner questioning the values of your training, this book offers clarity, honesty, and essential tools to find authenticity in a world crowded with illusion.
