About the Author

JOHN PEARSON, a management and board governance consultant, served 30 years as a nonprofit CEO, including 25 years as CEO of three national associations: Christian Management Association (now Christian Leadership Alliance), Willow Creek Association, and Christian Camp and Conference Association. He is co-author, with ECFA President Dan Busby, of "Lessons from the Nonprofit Boardroom" and "Lessons From the Church Boardroom." John is also the author of "Mastering the Management Buckets: 20 Critical Competencies for Leading Your Business or Nonprofit" and "Mastering the Management Buckets Workbook." He is the co-author of "Marketing Your Ministry: Ten Critical Principles" with Dr. Robert Hisrich. As the editor and publisher of "Your Weekly Staff Meeting," a complimentary eNewsletter that includes a book review and a "management buckets" commentary every issue, John has reviewed more than 400 leadership and management books since 2006.
