About the Authors

Wendy Jolliffe is retired Professor of Education and was, until recently, Head of Teacher Education at the University of Hull, UK. She has worked as a regional adviser for ITT for the National Strategies and advised ITT providers on effective provision for literacy. Wendy is a former deputy headteacher in a primary school in Hull and she has published extensively on teaching English and implementing cooperative learning.

David Waugh is Professor in the School of Education, Durham University, UK.

Judith Roden is Teaching Fellow at Canterbury Christ Church University, UK.

James Archer is the Centre Director of the International Montessori Institute at Leeds Becket University, UK.
