Andrew Romans, based in Silicon Valley, is a General Partner of Rubicon Venture Capital, a VC fund actively investing in deep technology startups. He is also the CEO and General Partner of 7blockchain.VC, a hybrid venture capital, hedge fund, strategy consulting and software engineering firm exclusively focused on investing in and supporting blockchain and crypto asset ecosystem companies. Romans is also the President of FilmEngine, a $100m media fund leveraging blockchain technology and currently completing an ICO. Romans is also a successful VC-backed entrepreneur, author of two top-selling books on venture capital, former tech VC and M&A investment banker and cofounder of an angel group. Romans advises large corporations and governments on venture capital, corporate venture capital, ICOs, cryptocurrency and blockchain. Romans raised over $48m for tech startups he founded by the age of 28. He has continually raised VC funding as a founder, banker or VC ever since. Romans was the founder and General Partner of The Founders Club (VC secondaries and equity exchange fund backed by 42 VCs) and also acted as the Managing Director of EMEA at VC-backed Sentito Networks ($58m in VC funding, acquired by Verso Technologies), The Global TeleExchange (raised $50m) and managed enterprise software sales in Europe at VC-backed Motive Communications (NASDAQ IPO). Romans opened new markets for fiber optic cable manufacturing and turn-key project construction company, Dura-Line, in the UK, Austria, Czech & Slovak Republics, Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. He is also a frequent VC, CVC, ICO and blockchain guest speaker on television and keynote speaker at conferences around the world. He was born in Japan, lived in Europe for 15 years, is fluent in English, German, and French and can speak conversationally in Slovak. He began his career working in the UNIX computing industry at Pencom Systems in New York, Silicon Valley, and Austin.
