Master's Return (The Mastery)

Dr. Bob Taylor lies comatose, his consciousness inaccessible to the finest of the Mastery’s Trackers, while he and his Guardian seemingly live on as husband and wife in a sleepy English village with their pets, two black dogs with glowing orange eyes—a gift from the powerful and intimidating Colonel Tarbold. Sid Solomon awakens in the Mastery’s infirmary with no idea how he escaped the todar. He and his rival, Lin Kuan, now Grand Master, must overcome their mutual distrust in order to locate Taylor and his Guardian on the astral plane before the mysterious Power that has them imprisoned can complete its chilling plan. Tim Wake continues to baffle the Mastery with his uncanny abilities while repelling them from his dreams, aided by seductress Gwen. Despite the Mastery's intrusions, Tim comes to question her motives, leading him to a difficult decision and a confrontation with her secretive Mentor. Master’s Return is the sequel to Master’s Journey and the second book of The Mastery, a trendsetting new series that trounces conventional genres of Sci-Fi and Fantasy in its fast-paced romp across the astral plane. Dream-shields, alternate realities, the origin of the gods, the nature of time, and the purpose of consciousness itself—all feature prominently in this unique and innovative metaphysical thriller.
