Two works of fiction from French author Pierre Loti in quarter-calf bindings, Matelot and Reflets Sur La Sombre Route. Pierre Loti (1850 1923) was a French novelist and naval officer. Contemporary critic Edmund Grosse described Loti as "unquestionably the finest descriptive writer of the day." In a quarter calf bindings with marbled boards. Externally generally smart, some wear to the extremities. Joints starting to both volumes. Pages very clean throughout with some light browning due to age. Tidemarks to the last few pages of Reflet. Good.
