About the Authors: Monika Ankele (Dr. phil.) ist Kuratorin am Medizinhistorischen Museum Hamburg und wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Geschichte und Ethik der Medizin des Universitätsklinikums Hamburg-Eppendorf. Sie forscht zur Geschichte der Psychiatrie des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts (Patientengeschichte, phraseologische und raumtheoretische Zugänge, materielle Kultur). Für ihre Arbeit wurde sie u.a. mit dem Käthe-Leichter-Preis für Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung sowie mit dem Michael-Mitterauer-Preis für Gesellschafts,- Kultur- und Wirtschaftsgeschichte ausgezeichnet.

Benoît Majerus (Dr. phil.), geb. 1975, lehrt Europäische Geschichte an der Universität Luxemburg. Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt ist die Geschichte der Psychiatrie im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert.
