Wrappers. In his address before the Friends of the Bancroft Library, Mr. Robinson relates that even though he was affiliated with Stanford University he and some of his students would travel to Berkeley to use the Bancroft Library. He states: "But I assure you that many of us outside feel that the Bancroft Library belongs to us; it is, moreover, a guide and inspiration to all who labor elsewhere in historical research and libraries of lesser size and less wealth of historical resources". He fu rther describes the importance of all major libraries as the repositories of our history.
