About the Author
Dr. Wendy Hageman Smith is an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education at Longwood University. She has over 20 years experience teaching undergraduates not only the art of mathematics itself, but also the art of teaching mathematics to others. Her research into teaching methods for college mathematics and the barriers facing math-anxious young adults revealed important principles for success, especially for college-bound and first-year college students. This research, combined with her experience and that of her colleagues, fully informs this authoritative and comprehensive student manual for getting the most out of high school and college math courses.
