This book is devoted to the proceedings of the Second International Conference on Mathematical and Computational Modeling, Approximation and Simulation (MACMAS 2023) which was held from May 29 to June 1, 2023 in Torino, Italy. The first part of the book presents four papers based on the plenary lectures given by the invited speakers Mariantonia Cotronei, Rachid Jennane, Juan Manuel Peña and Tatyana Sorokina, while the second part is devoted to the submissions received from participants.
Sara Remogna is Associate Professor of Numerical Analysis at the University of Torino (Italy). Her research interests include univariate and multivariate spline approximation, numerical methods for Computer Aided Geometric Design, numerical methods for the solution of differential and integral problems based on spline approximation. She obtained her Ph.D. in Science and High Technology—Specialization in Mathematics (University of Torino) and in Mathematics and Applications (University of Rennes 1), with an international joint supervision of Ph.D. agreement with double degree. She was Visiting Professor at the University of Valencia (Spain), 2022; University Jean Monnet (France), 2019; Dalian University of Technology (China), 2018; University of Granada (Spain), 2015 and 2017. She has coordinated/participated national and international research projects. She handled five special issues of Applied Mathematics and Computation, Mathematics and Computers in Simulation, Rend. Sem. Mat. Univ. Pol. Torino, Mathematics and two volumes of the SEMA-SIMAI Springer Series.
María José Ibáñez-Pérez is Associate Professor in Department of Applied Mathematics of University of Granada, Spain. Her topics research are interpolation and quasi-interpolation. Approximation tools based in splines, Box-splines, splines or finite elements and applications to electronics devices and topography. She obtained her Ph.D. in 2003 in Mathematics Applied with a thesis directed by Sablonniére, P. and Barrera, D. She has been invited professor in Mohamed the First University in Oujda Morocco (2008), Torino University in Mathematics Department “Giuseppe Peano” in 2016 and 2017. She has been Member of the scientific and organizing committees of all MAMERN and MACMAS congress. She is Co-editor of a special issue of MATCOM and is member of the IMAG, Institute of Mathematics of the University of Granada which is an associate center to Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery.
Paola Lamberti is Assistant Professor of Numerical Analysis at the University of Torino (Italy). Her research interests range from spline approximation methods, also for the solution of integral problems, to Computer Aided Geometric Design. She obtained her Ph.D. in Computational Mathematics and Operative Research (University of Milan, 1995). She was Visiting Professor at the Mohammed First University of Oujda (Morocco), 2022, Dalian University of Technology (China), 2018.
