Now in its third edition, this best-selling text provides rigorous and comprehensive coverage of the mathematical subject knowledge required for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Offering a clear explanation of basic mathematical ideas and mapped firmly against the TTA standards, this book includes:
- 'check' questions to test the reader’s understanding
- 'challenges and Conundrums' to stretch the reader’s abilities
- 'links with the classroom' to show the relevance of subjects covered
- 'self-audit test' for readers to assess their own level of maths.
With an accompanying CD-Rom of visual activities specifically designed to scaffold and support the reader’s own understanding, this book is essential reading for all trainee and practising primary teachers wanting to improve their mathematical subject knowledge.
