Add to basketMalek Adhel lies dying in the arms of Mathilde, in the desert. Lithograph on wove paper, sheet size 203 x 269 mm. Lithographed by Horace Vernet and printed by Charles Philibert de, Comte de Lasteyrie du Saillant in 1817 (dated in the stone). Émile Jean-Horace Vernet (1789-1863), mostly known as simply Horace Vernet, was a French painter of battles, portraits, and Orientalist subjects. He was also an early adopter of the lithographic technique. In good condition, but with light spots scattered throughout the sheet. Darker soiling in the lower right margin corner.
