Be Maths Smart with Multiplication and Division, Stage 4: Understanding strategies while developing and cementing knowledge

Carefully aligned to the stages of development in numeracy, this series has been designed to supplement the classroom programme with activities to follow up each key concept after it has been introduced. The activities reinforce learning while keeping the work varied and stimulating. Word problems show the concept in a real-life context and students are encourages to write their own problem and apply their understanding. Rubrics, curriculum links and clear learning intentions guide teachers in their planning and students in their learning.

Suzi de Gouveia is an accomplished educator with over 40 years of teaching experience. After spending 18.5 years as principal of St Teresa's School in Christchurch, New Zealand, she had a brief retirement before realising this lifestyle wasn't for her. Missing the vibrant energy and daily action of the classroom, she has returned to teaching part-time. Throughout her career, Suzi has developed a wealth of innovative ideas and resources dedicated to enhancing students' learning. She continues to bring that same passion and expertise to the school environment today.
